Tour Details & Itinerary

Day 1

The bus suited for Namibian conditions departs from Cape Town and follows the route via Malmesbury, Piketberg, Citrusdal and Clanwilliam, our first stopover will be in Springbok.

Day 2

Today, we leave Springbok and enter Namibia at Vioolsdrif/Noordoewer.  Having completed the border formalities, we pay a visit to the very impressive Fish River Canyon.   We then head for the hot springs at Ai-Ais.  This will also be our stop over for the night.

Day 3

After breakfast, we leave and follow the beautiful route across Rosch Pinah to Aus.  We then travel through the ancient Namib desert with its wild desert horses, to the interesting Lüderitz.We visit the lonesome Dias Cross, and arrive at our luxury accommodation, the Nest Hotel.

Day 4

After a delicious breakfast, we pay a visit to the historic ghost town, Kolmanskop, before departing eastward to reach our next overnight venue, the beautifully located Hammerstein Lodge

Day 5

We enjoy breakfast and follow the spectacular route through the ZarisPass to Sesriem and the impressive dunes of Sossusvlei – the highest dunes in the world, where optional 4X4 trips can be undertaken into the vlei area (at a tariff of approximately? per person).  During the afternoon, we head for the surprising Solitaire.

Day 6

After breakfast, we travel northward. The route negotiates two spectacular river canyons, the Gaub and the Kuiseb. On our way, we will also pause at the famous Dune 7 before arriving in Walvis Bay,our home for the next two nights.

Day 7

During the morning, we go on a very informative boat trip in the Walvis Bay harbour (optional activity R?) afterwards we explore the interesting desert with its Welwitchias and Moon landscape.  This is followed by a delicious dinner in a real German Restaurantin Swakopmund.

Day 8

We leave Walvis Bay after breakfast and drive via Usakos, Karibib, Omaruru,and Outjoto enter the Etosha National Parkat the Anderssons Gate.From here it is a short distance to Okaukeujo, one of the camps and our base for tonight.  A lovely dinner awaits and we are likely to spend some interesting hours at the illuminated water hole.

Day 9

After breakfast, we take a game watching drive to Halali,another camp in the park.  We should be there for our lunch break.  After lunch we leave for Namutoni which is situated on the Eastern side of the camp this will be our next stay over for the night. .

Day 10

Today we depart from Etosha and travel via Tsumeb, Otavi, Otjiwarongoto Okahandja, the biltong mecca of Namibia.  The tidy Capital – Windhoek –is our next stop.  After a short tour of the city and some shopping we depart to our hotel for the evening.  During the afternoon shuttles can be used to travel to and from the business area of Windhoek (more info available at the Hotel).

Day 11

We leave Windhoek and travel further south across Rehoboth, and Mariental to reach Keetmanshoopduring the afternoon.  We overnight in one of the comfortable hotels.  A Visit to the interesting Quiver tree forest and the Giant’s playground will also be squeezed in.

Day 12

After a leisurely breakfast, we say goodbye to Keetmanshoopand depart for the border post at Noordoewervia Grünauand Karasburg.From here the road leads back to Springbok,where we spend our last night together.

Day 13

We leave Springbok and make our way back home via Kammieskroon, Garies, Klawer, Piketbergand Malmesbury with pleasant memories of a splendid visit to the pre-historic and mystic NAMIBIA. All that remains to be said is: ”Auf wiedersehen!”.
