Day 1
We depart from Roodepoort and follow a route via Pretoria and Potgietersrus to enter Botswanaat the Grobler’s bridge/Martin’s Driftborder post. Having completed all the border formalities, we proceed to Palapye,where our accommodation is in the up-market Majestic Five Hotel.
Day 2
After a delicious breakfast, we depart northwards via Francistown and from here to Nata, where we arrive around lunch time. Then we travel further in a northerly direction via Pandamatenga to Kasane, where the beautiful Chobe Safari Lodge, on the banks of the Chobe Rivier, will be our home for the next 3 evenings.
Day 3
A day, never to be forgotten. The day starts with an exciting early morning game drivethrough the Chobe national park in open 4X4 vehicles. During the afternoon, there is an equally exciting boat cruise on the Chobe River,with the banks of the river teeming with game. These activities are included in the tour tariff.
Day 4
After breakfast, we proceed to the Kazungula border post, where we enter Zimbabwe.Having completed all the border formalities, we depart for the beautiful little town of Victoria Falls.We visit the mighty Victoria Falls and stand in awe of its grandeur and power - one of the seven wonders of the world and a real gem of nature. Then we are free to explore some of the interesting places in this well-known tourist town and its surroundings.There is also the possibility of an optional 13-minute helicopter flight across the waterfall. The tariff for this activity is dependent upon exchange rate fluctuations of the S A Rand against the US$ and is currently approximately $200.00 per person, inclusive of Park Fees.During the afternoon, we depart from Victoria Falls to return to Kasanevia the Kazungula border post.
Day 5
After a delicious breakfast, we depart southwards and should arrive at Nata Lodge, our overnight stop for today, during lunch time. During the afternoon, we board 4X4 vehicles for an exciting visit to the Makgadikgadi Pans
Day 6
After breakfast, we depart in a westerly direction to arrive at Maun, on the edge of the famous Okavango Delta, during the afternoon. Our accommodation for the next 2 nights is in one of the comfortable hotels in the town. Bookings can be made to undertake an optional light aircraft flight across the Okavango Delta. This flight offers a magnificent perspective of the extent of the Delta. The current cost is plus minus $175and is dependent on the Rand/USA$ exchange rate
Day 7
Today there is the opportunity for an optional full-day Mokoro excursion. A Mokoro is a traditional canoe, made from hollowed-out tree trunks in which a chair is placed at the bottom and is propelled by a “poler” standing upright. During the excursion, there is also the opportunity for a guided game walk, during which game will most probably be encountered. This walk is not compulsory. Lunch packs may also be ordered. We strongly recommend that at least one of these activities be done to form an idea of what this unique natural wonder is all about. The approximate cost is BP2000 per person. Minimum 2 personsand is again dependent on the Rand/Pula exchange rate
Day 8
After breakfast we depart in an easterly direction and should arrive at the diamond mining town Lethlakaneby lunch time. We proceed via Serowe to spend our last evening together at the Majestic Five Hotel in Palapye.
Day 9
After a delicious breakfast, we travel back to exit Botswana at the Martin’s Drift Border Post, from where we tackle the last stretch home, however an unforgettable tour, becomes an everlasting memory.
